About

Marissa Satomi’s lifelong love and passion for art and design have shaped her remarkable journey. Armed with a BA in World Arts and Cultures from UCLA, Marissa embarked on her creative endeavors by founding and directing Projex Connect, an arts non-profit organization nestled within the vibrant Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco.

For Marissa, the transition from art to interior design was a natural evolution. Her exploration into design and architecture began approximately 15 years ago when she purchased her first home and undertook a transformative renovation for herself and her two young children. This hands-on experience laid the foundation for her deep connection to the world of design.

Formally entering the industry, Marissa served as the business manager at a distinguished high-end construction firm based in San Francisco. This role provided her with invaluable insights into the intricacies of the construction and building processes, further fueling her passion for the field. Building on this knowledge, Marissa transitioned to become a Design Associate for a prominent San Francisco Bay Area interior architecture and design firm.

Drawing from years of experience in construction and interior design, Marissa was inspired to establish her own design firm—Marissa Satomi Design. Here, her unique vision and unwavering dedication to her craft continue to captivate, inspiring awe and admiration in every project she undertakes.
