These terms apply to your use of www.marissasatomidesign.com (the “Site”), operated by Marissa Satomi Design (“we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Use of the Site

You may browse the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes and to learn about our services. You agree not to:

• use the Site in any way that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others;
• interfere with the Site, its security or its availability;
• submit false information or use the inquiry form to send unsolicited messages.

2. Information on the Site

The content on the Site is general information about our work. It is not professional design, architectural, engineering, construction, legal or financial advice for any particular project. We aim to keep the Site accurate, but we do not promise that it is complete or current, and we may change it at any time without notice.

3. No Engagement Until Agreed in Writing

Submitting an inquiry or contacting us does not create a client relationship or oblige either of us to proceed. Services are provided only under a separate written agreement, which sets out the scope, fees and terms for that project and takes priority over these terms where they differ.

4. Portfolio and Project Results

Projects shown on the Site illustrate past work and collaborations with architects, builders, artisans and other professionals, who are credited where applicable. Every project is different; the results, costs and timelines of past projects do not guarantee the same for any future project. Testimonials reflect the experience of the individuals who gave them.

5. Intellectual Property

The Site's content, including text, designs, logos and photographs, belongs to us or to our photographers, collaborators and licensors, and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may share links to the Site, but you may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or commercially use its content without prior written permission. Artworks pictured on the Site remain the property of their respective artists and owners.

6. Your Inquiry and Personal Information

When you submit the inquiry form, we receive the details you provide: your name, email, phone number, project location, scope of work and desired start date. We use this information to respond to your inquiry and discuss your project. We do not sell it. It is delivered by email and may be stored and processed by the service providers that host the Site and our email. Please do not send sensitive information through the form.

7. Third-Party Links

The Site links to third-party services such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Houzz and Facebook. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content or practices. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute relating to these terms or the Site will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Marin County, California, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
